Title: Bungie Saddened By Live Switchoff - "Last Hoorah" Planned

The devs at Bungie, the guys behind the Halo series, have said that they are saddened by Microsoft’s decision to switch off the original Xbox Live service, ending the online enjoyment of Bungie’s popular FPS games on Microsoft’s original console.
Microsoft announced last week that the service would be deactivated on April 15th, meaning that original Xbox games will no longer be able to be played online, whether a retail copy or a Xbox Originals downloaded version.
“We're all saddened at the realisation that an era is coming to an end but looking back, we're incredibly fortunate to have had such a great run and such strong support from our fans,” reads a post on the Bungie.net blog.
“Halo 2 has been at or near the top of the Xbox Live charts for original games since it launched over five years ago,” continued the post. “We're extremely thankful to everyone who has played, enjoyed and supported Halo 2 over Xbox Live. We've had some great fun together, including far too many humpday losses to even recount.”
Bungie invited Halo 2 players to gather online on April 14th to play some last games: “Mark your calendars now - on April 14th let's all rally to go online for one last hoorah. One final farewell and one final opportunity for all of you to kick our asses at Halo 2.”
What’s the bet that enough Halo 2 players will flood Live on the 14th that the whole service will crash? I’ve got ten bucks right here.
