Portal 2 has been officially announced through a Steam News update.
According to the update, the game, a sequel to 2007’s critically acclaimed Portal, is set for release this holiday season.
In far more mysterious news, you may have noticed that the Steam News article has numerous characters seemingly randomly underlined. If you put those letters together, they spell “drattmannh0nee”, which turned out to be the login information for the Portal BBS. When logged into with that information, the following image appears:
Like I said, mysterious. However, that mystery also, may have been solved. The text in the image seems to hint at a co-op mode for the game, something that may have been inadvertently revealed by GameStop.
Gamespot.com’s Portal 2 description page, which has now been edited, formerly read: “Coming this holiday. Portal 2 is the sequel to 2007's Game of the Year and draws from the award-winning formula of innovative game play, story, and music that earned the original over 70 industry accolades. Features single and multiplayer co-op modes [emphasis added].”
