In 2008, then-general manager of Visceral Games Glenn Schofield told Variety in an interview that there would be a follow up to the sci-fi survival horror shooter Dead Space. In September, further evidence surfaced, with EA posted a job listing recruiting for the Dead Space 2 development team. Well, now it’s official. EA has announced that Dead Space 2 will be released on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
EA did not give a timeframe for the release, and were equally cagey about game details. They said that the game would once again follow the original Dead Space protagonist Isaac Clarke, but didn’t offer any plot details. If was confirmed that there will be zombie-like necromorphs, however (and Dead Space fans rejoiced). The publisher also promises to deliver new weapons, characters and environments.
Dead Space 2 isn’t the only addition to the franchise in development, with Variety reporting in July that a live action adaptation of Dead Space is in the works, with D.J. Caruso (Disturbia, Two for the Money, Eagle Eye) attached to direct.

It's just like Assassin's Creed 2. We already knew it would happen, it was just a matter of when they would say anything about it. I'm honestly surprised they're still following the story of Isaac, but I'm not complaining, that dude's a badass! I'm certainly looking forward to this!
