Title: Video Games Declared Illegal
Posted: Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 8:32 am

Now that I’ve got your attention…

Video games have been declared illegal! In a shocking move, it was announced today that a new law has been passed in the US declaring the possession and distribution “interactive electronic entertainment” illegal.

Understandably, there was an mass outcry from the gaming community, including numerous large scale protests in various major cities, including Washington DC, New York and Los Angeles. However, police used tear gas and riot gear in order to disperse the crowds.

Long time anti-video game campaigner Mick Watkinson, who was a vocal supporter of introducing the controversial law, commented, “I feel this is a major step in protecting our innocent children from the graphic violence and disgusting and depraved sex present in all video games. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I promised my five year old son I’d watch ‘Predator’ with him.”

Officials have taken swift action in enforcing the law, with video game consoles and games being forcibly confiscated from gamers. It seems that…uh, one second, someone’s trying to take my Xbox…be right back…

Damn, I couldn’t stop them. They wouldn’t even leave the hard drive. That means I lost all my Mass Effect 2 saves. Crud.

According to reports surfacing on underground gaming websites, hidden gaming groups have already sprung up around the country. Several of these have been raided by police, followed by the wanton destruction of gaming equipment. The owners were forced to watch the demolition.

There was talk of an armed revolt, however this was halted when someone pointed out that marathon sessions of Modern Warfare 2 don’t translate to actual skill with firearms. Only time will tell what action, if any, will be taken by the repressed gaming community. Personally, I’m going to go chase the guys who took my 360 down the street.

Disclaimer: The preceding story was entirely (well, maybe not entirely) fictional. That is to say, it was fake, a farce, a fabrication. It is part of a new series here on Gamebiased entitled “How Gullible Are You?”

What can I say? It was kind of a slow news day.

Props, man. That was pretty hysterical. I'll admit, I was all like WTF at first, but when I started to read it I began to expect the "disclaimer" at the end.

You know what you should do, random515? In future entries of the "How Gullible Are You?" series, you should never announce the fact that the article is made up. That way you and other smart people can laugh at all the fools that think it's true.
