I honestly don't think it's right to entitle a game, above all opposition, the "Game of the Year". Yeah, maybe said game is so awesome that it blows everything else out of the water. Still, not everyone is going to agree. So it always goes, and so it always will. So, I decided that in this thread, you can post what you think your Game of the Year is and why. There should be no argument over what the best game this year was. I think it's best if we just look back on 2009 and accept it as another great year of gaming, and take note of all the great games that came out. Here's to hoping that 2010 turns out to be even more awesome!

So, by all means, go ahead and post! I'll post mine later, but for now I'd like to see what you think.

For me, it's got to be Dragon Age: Origins. I've sunk more than 100 hours into that game there's still heaps I haven't done, different side quests and origin stories, a multitude of different endings (think what Bethesda promised the ending of Fallout 3 would be). There's so much content here, and it's just about all great fun.

Ohh Jon, why do you have to ask the hard questions lol. Im not really sure to be honest, if I did have to choose it would probably just be in topics (best multiplayer, best rpg, best rts, etc.) but if I had to choose one off the top of my head the probably borderlands, all of gamings great elements in one awesome package.

If it was multiplayer game of the year it would be Modern Warfare 2
Best coop game would be a tie between L4D2 and Borderlands
Best single player would tie between Uncharted 2 and Dragon Age

It's alright, you can still talk about it when you do get them, even if that is next year. It ought to give you more time to think anyway.

So, I think I have two games of the year. The first is Batman: Arkham Asylum because it's an excellent action-adventure game (I love those), and it really makes you feel like Batman (I love Batman)! I've been a fan of Batman all my life too, so it's great that there's finally a truly great video game of Batman.

My second is... well.. you know. I'll just have you know that Assassin's Creed (both the first and second) is about much more than just shanking people while dressed in a spiffy white robe. It goes way, waaaaaay deeper than that. The story is really the strong point of both games, but Assassin's Creed 2 has gameplay to match. I always thought the first one was pretty good, but looking back now, yes. It did suck. Assassin's Creed 2 is just so much fun! What with the freerunning, climbing, and of course stabbing guards with hidden blades. Even if you haven't played the first game, you would shame yourself not to play the second.

I bet you're absolutely shocked at my choices. :razz1
