I appreciate both. Making improvements to older formulas is great, but at the same time I love something that's new and fresh.

Well, with Castelvania they have the bad habit of (barely) building upon the formula set by Symphony of the Night. This is why I am so stoked for Lords of Shadow, because they are finally doing what they should have done in the N64 era. They are doing a 3D Castelvania game right. Although I will admit, Legacy of Darkness was pretty awesome. So to answer your question, innovation wins.

Genious! But if I'd have to pick I would choose innovation. Theres nothing as satisfying as a truly fresh experience. *cough* Heavy *cough* Rain *cough*
