Brazil, an emerging video game market, has recently seen the launch of Sony’s now nine year old console, the PlayStation 2.
The console will retail for a price of BRL 799 (USD 462), more than USD 150 more than the MSRP of Sony’s seventh generation console, the PS3 Slim. Games are expected to retail for BRL 119 (USD 69) for new releases and BRL 99 (USD 57) for catalogue games, with 14 games to be available at launch.
“Brazil is home to a large community of gaming enthusiasts, making the country an ideal opportunity for SCEA to introduce the PlayStation experience to a new legion of fans,” reads a company statement.

That's cool, at least some countries are catching up with gaming. Still, there are too many countries that aren't even into the NES days yet. So don't take gaming for granted, kids!
